Scammers are a growing menace, and I know someone who was nearly tricked into losing £25,000. When I chanced across a YouTube on this subject by Frank Delaney, a former fraud investigator, I was interested to see what he had to say. It turned out to be very good advice.

This case study, How to deal with calls from scammers, explains how Peka helped me extract that advice and turn it into a notice one could pin up beside the phone. It is the kind of work which happens quite often and, if carried out by a human alone, is tedious and time-consuming. When carried out with the assistance of Peka, it is almost effortless and takes very little of the human's time.

The rules themselves are in Five rules for answering an unknown call, and the reason for the rule about saying "yes" is in The dangers of the yes trap phone scam, with what to say instead in The power of the counter-question.
